New Rhythms For Glasgow

New Rhythms for Glasgow is a grassroots community music and arts organisation that has been delivering participatory projects in North Glasgow for over 18 years. Our aim is to increase participation in creative activity by providing opportunities for the local community to engage in music and art through listening, making and performing.

We work with the whole community to create unique musical and artistic community collaborations. In particular working with groups less likely to access music and art opportunities due to barriers of cost, confidence, information and opportunity. We have an open and inclusive participant centered way of working that encourages collaboration, free expression and creativity.

We aim to challenge conventional genres and rules of music making, through free expression and open access regardless of experience, ability or confidence; we value product and process equally. Our long term work has developed fantastic working relationships with local agencies, schools, housing associations and colleges allowing for joint working, referrals into our projects and signposting into positive destinations. We make a difference to peoples lives using music, art and movement as a platform for positive change.
